In Your Real Presence

I feel Your real presence dear Lord

As the moist haze of early morning slowly recedes

Revealing the dimly lit beginning to a brand new day

I stand in awe of your hand at work in creation

In amazement at the daily renewal of the cycle of life

I feel Your real presence dear Lord

As I gaze at Your handwork of painted morning hues

Of golden browns and grayest blues, ever changing

Inspiring my spirit to rise above just living this day

To a place where I celebrate your boundless love

I recognize Your real presence dear Lord

As a smile, a warm hello, and a touch is shared

And I see genuine caring in the eyes of another

Spreading the love You gave us to share

Bringing it to each other as You have shown

I hear Your real presence dear Lord

When I pause during the frenetic day to listen

When someone says: "How are you" or "I’ll pray for you"

Their care is genuine, it is Your gift and Your will

To love one another as You have shown

I feel Your real presence dear Lord

When I pray to You at the most common of times

In the most common of places You are there

To listen and receive my deepest thoughts

To bring me Your comfort and strength

I see Your real presence dear lord

When I visit your body this hour

Really present here to nurture and strengthen me

In the perfect gift of Eucharist

As You promised, with us, until the end of time

So I spend this hour in Your real presence Lord

In the place where You want me to be

And pray to You for all time and all things

And come to where I was born to return

In Your presence for all eternity
