What Ends Begins Again

September begins my favorite season

When summer ends and fall begins

The heat of summer giving way to crisp damp mornings,

Cool nights and deep azure blue-sky days with clouds so white

A season of change; of back to school and back to sweaters

Of back to routine and daily pressures

A time of renewal, when green turns back to color

When trees bare their branches, the sounds of leaves crunching underfoot

And fields yield their last harvests and food is stored

To prepare for more change to come

What a great time to cool down from summer

To settle down at home with family

And refresh your soul by spending time in Eucharistic adoration

A time to strip away the deep shades of our anxiety and excesses

And let the true colors of our passion for Christ shine through

A time to look into the deep cool blue sky and breathe in God’s fresh goodness

A season to change the heat of daily pressure to the coolness of peaceful prayer

A time to strip away all the covering of our preoccupations

To spend an hour in September with Christ in His Eucharistic presence

Wrap the warm sweater of Gods love around your soul

And open up to the changes God has in store for you
