Your Presence
I have
heard Your call today
Sometimes saying yes,
but not always, or in all ways
Yet you send Your message clearly,
Asking me to trust in
You all of my days
I’ve
seen Your face today
Often in others when
I really pause to look for You
Yet You are in us all, part of us large and small
We are Your image throughout time old and new
I’ve
felt Your love today
Alive as a fire
burning bright
Bursting forth when I
fan its flame with prayer
In my life’s depth
and in my life’s height
I’ve
touched You today
As I held the small
hand of a baby
Feeling trust and
love and hope
That, as You love all, You also love me
I’ve
tasted You, the bread of life today
In intimate communion
with You as I pray
Feeding and nurturing
me for the journey
For no matter, here I
will not stay
I’ve
known your presence today
In special moments of
truth and light
In times of fullness
and of need
In places, and people
I feel Your might
Help me
hear, see, feel, touch, and taste You today,
And help me know You well in what I do and say
I look, I care, I long, I give
I have been in Your
presence all along
Help me be open, to
be ready
Here, now, why and
how I live
