Bring Your Warmth

In the cold winters of my life

I look for warmth of heart

Finding comfort in surprising places

In familiar, friendly eyes, a new start

In tender touch of hands on mine

Its texture, and smooth soothing feel

Comforting me and melting my steel thoughts

My cold heart changing, turning false to real

In hearing a comforting word

Cold thoughts begin to fade, to melt

Into feelings and true purpose

Beyond what I’ve ever felt

In the softness of a poem written

Slowly escaping into the mist of a dream

Where all is calm and warm again

All isn’t what is does seem

Like a warm coverlet

I wrap sweet thoughts around

And protect against the cold and chill

Reveling in what treasure I have found

Comfort in the winter of my soul

Warmth in the nighttime of my days

In Gods velvet loving hand my repose

My spirit, my soul with Him so stays

Holy Spirit bring me warmth

Bring Gods comfort and Holy grace

When I need it most, so I pray

That You bring Your peace,

And Your soothing love,

Today, to me, in this place
