Peace Comes

In the patter of the very first droplets of rain
So sparse that every one pops on its own
Until the disparate rhythm accelerates
Into a solid wall of flowing sound
Not unlike a rushing river in the spring
Beginning with one drop but grown into a force
Barely contained by its high banks
As it picks up speed while seeking lower elevation

Peace comes
In the first twitter of the earliest bird proclaiming
In the pre dawn early morn, her solitary presence
Until the answering calls soon outnumber the caller
All uniquely beckoning, intoning their individuality
Joining in a chorus of a thousand disharmonies
Blending into a solid din of sound from a thousand speakers
Each individual, yet all in one song of praise
In proclaiming their presence

Pease comes
So too in t he silence of a flickering candle
Standing as shining solitary sentry in honor
Of His Real Presence in this place
A solitary flame yet with equal brightness to all others
Burning brightly to honor the One
As I kneel in this awesome divine venue
In awe and wonder at His presence
And hear His voice in my heart
