And Still

I have been given the incredible gift of faith

Often I have talked it and often lived it

But then, often I have not

And still, He loves and forgives me

I have seen the need for love in others

Thought about what they need

Yet at times have looked away

And still, He loves and forgives me

I have been blessed by so many good things

And most times strived for more

While not appreciating that what I have is His

And still, He loves and forgives me

I have spent my life striving for success

And at times have unfortunately achieved it

Without giving thanks to He who gives it

And still, He loves and forgives me

His heart is kind and merciful

Rich in kindness, slow to anger

Yet I have oft times hardened my own

And judged where He would not

And still, He loves and forgives me

In this time of searching my soul, and re-awakening

This time of opening my heart to His

This time of facing my weaknesses and asking for help

Of entering my innermost heart-place to find You

Help me hold my weakness up as an offering

Bless me with the strength to change

That I may love and forgive all

As You have perfectly loved and forgiven me
