Beatitude
Lord help me
be your “beatitude”
A channel of Your
love to all
Not by my efforts but by knowing
You provide all in the call that I
heed
And have shown me the way safely home
Through clear pathways shown by Your lead
Lord help me be a Your “beatitude”
Through things that I do
and I say
In following Your will clearly stated
We were told clearly
that day
As we sat listening to
Your Words
Words of lifesaving love
sent our way
Lord help
me be Your “beatitude”
As I try here to do now Your will
In every call heard that
I act on
Sharing my gifts;
finding the need
Doing what is right when
You call me
Through my efforts
planting Your seed
Lord help
me be Your “beatitude”
May I recognize You suddenly here
In the eyes of the
hurting and needy
In the cries of the
helpless and poor
In the shame of abuse
and injustice
Not elsewhere but at my
front door
Lord help
me be Your “beatitude”
Open my senses to heed Your call
In places familiar and unlikely
Where I least expect to
find You
In surprising times
entering my life
When You
call me clearly To Do.
Lord help
me be Your “beatitude”
Strengthen me to do Your will
To live as You clearly have showed me
To die to all glare now that blinds me
From seeing my neighbor
in need
Help me to act as You taught us so bravely
To
love truly in word and in deed.
