It’s a new year already, so soon

I had barely found my rhythm

Now its over, time to start again

To look back and know I’m forgiven

All I did, and did not do, is in the past again

I bring the old, but make all new

Help me heal and restart my life

Refresh it now, in what I say and do

May I renew and start again

As another year lies before

Help me focus my life in You this year

And anticipate with joy what’s in store

Help me use each day much better

Than before now I have done

To recognize gifts in one another

And live as life anew has begun

With joy in the simple things

And peace always in my heart

May I live to simply serve others

For of the body of Christ I am part

May I take what God sends me

With knowledge that He knows

What I need and what should happen

Guiding, with the love that He shows

For surely there is reason

Beyond my need to be aware

In His plan and His method

In His ever loving care

Help me look outward

And spread Your good word

To all I encounter

In how I live in this world
