Time never wasted,

When spent with a friend

Love which we voice in our talk and our care

Time we must flow with, for now and again

It flies, stands still, then returns us to there.

Watch and it passes

Look away and it stays,

Count it and track it

In months, weeks and days.

Receive it, then spend it

Yet more comes our way

Use it, or waste it

Time always to stay.

For you my dear friend

I take time now to write

Two or three lines

In words as I may,

To lift up your heart

And make your day bright

To change your time’s color

To golden, from gray.

For as it is given

Time always spent well,

Is time used to pray

With a friend, for a friend
