Fulfillment

The promise voiced from heaven

In times so long ago

In many ways and times

In echoes written

Ways so clearly shown

Repeated often over time

So clear yet un-believed

Now reigning true

Still today in ways

Back then yet inconceived

Voice clearly heard

Oft in ancient pages told

Yet awaited for centuries anew

By men of good will

Generations of old

Covenant promise

Made clear in an ancient age

Forever enforced in time

Pointing forward, loving ever

Setting the eternal stage

Now fulfilled in our hearing

And seen by men in time

Completion of the promise

Made of old, now new

In presence sublime

This birth just now

In modern time seen

By eyes of faith and love

Is completion in itself

Of the Word Himself above.

May I be fulfilled

And anticipate

The fullness of love alive

And prepare my heart

For a life of peace and love

The Christ child has arrived
