I have Iistened today

For Your voice oh Shepherd of all

But in the pace and noise of life

Have I heard You at all?

Have I followed You

When I’ve heard Your call

Despite the clutter of life

Come home through it all?

I have heard Your voice

In unusual places

In the unexpected

In everyday spaces

Have I recognized Your call

From those I call friends

From perfect strangers I meet

In the surprises You send?

I have opened my ears to hear

And my heart to the choice

To heed Your calling me near

Finding comfort in Your voice

Have I recognized Your voice

My Shepherd, my safety

Calling me to follow You

In whispers, in voices heard

From without and within?

I know Your voice, my Shepherd

One who bids me to come and see

From the first sound heard

Before I was born, You said
