Holy Presence

In the perfect balance of the celestial ballet

Witnessed nightly in the awesome spectacle of a star lit sky

There’s a presence so clearly shown and known

To all who pause to watch night turn to day

In the unceasing rhythm of waves sliding on shore

Each reaching as far as it can to bring life to the dry land

There’s a presence so clearly shown and known

To all who listen to the holy breath of its ebb and flow

In the awesome beauty of mountain spires capped with snow

Dominating the land with their power and height

There’s a presence so clearly shown and known

To all whose breath is taken by their majestic shadow

In the stark beauty of the flowing desert landscape

Its dryness pulling life away, yet still, with life abounding

There’s a presence so clearly shown and known

To all who wander deep into its barren yet rich solitude

In the rich moist oxygenated air of verdant forests

Filled with the life energy of all known kind

There’s a presence so clearly shown and known

To all who breathe deeply of its sweet holy scent

In the innocent and primal joy of a child’s laugh

Joyfully learning life’s joy and the touch of love

There’s a presence so clearly shown and known

To all who embrace the child within

We are so clearly in Your presence Lord

That to deny it would be to deny the reality of our own life

For You are so clearly shown and known in Your creation

Breathing life, moving all, embracing all with Your boundless love

And in the Eucharist, Your most incredible gift of all is Your real presence

Giving Yourself fully to Your created, in inconceivable love

So wondrously remaining with and within us
