I, His
Branch
From the vine I am
nourished
And on its life I
depend
As it grows and
flourishes
Outward new shoots I
send
I have sprung forth
from the vine
Solely as it has
deigned
To grow outward and
reach to heaven
And I am sustained
From His roots my
thirst is quenched
My fibers grow and
His beauty unfurl
Strengthened, I
spring forth branches
To gather and touch
the world
My leaves gather
grace and give comfort
To those who come
under their shade
Cooling all with the
good Word
In this way we all are
saved
I bear fruit and
spread its’ seed
That the Word might
grow and spread
In how I hold tight
to His life
The branch, my body;
the vine, my head
In stormy times may I
hold tight
To the vine for my
very life
From Him I draw
strength to go on
In face of trial and
strife
May I His branch,
flower forth His beauty
Nurtured and
strengthened by the vine from above
And spread His Word
outward to all
In how I live and how
I love
