My Blindness
From listening to the crowd
I have learned much of this man
Son of David, new prophet sent
Some refer to Him as Rabbi
Some call Him Messiah
Yet others of Him deeply deny
He comes and the crowds pass
I can hear His voice
With words of peace and love
I stand to follow Him
Only to be pushed aside
But somehow He hears my cry
“Lord help me in my blindness”
He calls my name and hears my cry
“What do you want” He asks
But only one thing I can say
You have the power to open my eyes
As light enters my view for the first time
I hear: “Your faith has saved you”
“You believed in Me”, and you will see
And through your longing reached out
“You shall see again, through my eyes”
I cry aloud for I was blind and now can see
My sight is clear, and my heart is free!
