Without Faith
How can I lay my head down
each night
And not trust in His will
while IÕm asleep
Knowing that I am not in
control
Of whether I awake from
the deep
Without Faith
How can I open my eyes and
look about
And not trust that I will
have sight
Knowing that by His gift, my
brain alone
Teaches me to recognize
the light
Without Faith
How can I reach out to touch
And not trust that I will really
feel
Knowing that by His gift,
my nerves
Pass on what is sensed as
real
Without Faith
How can I inhale once more
And not trust that this next
breath will come
Knowing that each is such
a gift from Him
Connecting me to the world
as one
Without Faith
How can I take a step
forward, even one
And not trust that I will
not fall
Knowing that all balance
is from Him
And it is He who helps me
stand tall
Without Faith
How can I bear up under
the tests of this life
And not trust that I will
pass
Because He knows me by
name
And will remain with me
till the last
For it is He
Who in His eternal wisdom
Has a divine plan placing
me here
Only for a short time,
this time
Only to return to Him to
forever be near
