In this season of anticipation

I wait,

Listening closely to my heart

Watching for grace filled moments

As I prepare for a new start

In this season of longing

I ponder,

Thinking about what I have

Wondering what I really need

Really considering what I should give

In this season of introspection

I think deeply,

About God’s great gifts to me

About what I am doing with them

And look for ways to help others see

In this season of deep thought

I ask,

For help in seeing my inmost heart

For grace to help me focus on You

And promise never to let myself drift apart

In this season of change

I seek,

To resolve my weak and sinful ways

Your help and grace in my efforts to do so

And resolve that in Your light I’ll stay

In this season of prayer

I pray,

That I become gentle of heart and soul

That I come ever closer to You

For to be with You Lord Jesus is my goal
