As I finish one chapter

I turn, then move forward

To the next coming page.

Be with me Oh Lord

Beside me, and guide me

As I pause then I enter

Another new stage

Hold my hand, show the way

As I read on, Oh lord

Help to me find what I need

Thru your book, let me look

Help me see, help me be,

And marvel at your deeds

My God, My Author

Do I live as you’ve written?

Do I "read" the words I say

Do I hear them, really listen?

Is there meaning I miss

Have I heard their message today?

The book of my life, have I read it

Out loud, to someone I need

Or do I read alone till day is done

And forget what it is I read?

Am I reading the book of my life

In your light

The light of your grace, my Lord

In the dim can I see the words as they are?

Do I fill in, I think, It should be…

Do I finish some pages too soon, too soon

Will I know what it is I will see?

Let me leap forth mere a chapter

To see what is there

To get a slight glimpse of the scene

For I know it is written, by your hand, on my heart

My life, my future, my dream.
