Your Tapestry

I am but one thread in Your tapestry Lord

One among many in purpose and skill

One among many, of different types

Woven together to do Your will

We are many colors, and of varied strength

Alone as threads we are frail and weak,

But together we weave a fabric of love

And together Your strength we all seek

Woven together in pattern and shade

All working as one, but separately too

Sometimes a tear or rip is often made

Making us all weaker in what we do

We, Your fabric, are all frayed and loose

Lacking strength in time and place and space

Because there are threads yet still unwoven

And fallen out of your grace

A frayed cloth, the flawed garment of our life

Is incomplete and needing repair

The image and color are just not right

Help me sew it up,

Help me fix the tear

With Your help we will seam the loose

We will patch the holes with help from above

And with love and patience and holy care

Repair Your tapestry with Your seamless love
