His Sacred Heart

In the darkest of times in our lives
When all seems lost and confused
When there are so many reasons to doubt
And seemingly so little to hold on to
There is, as always, the love of His Sacred Heart
 
And when my heart is ready to break
From all of life’s pressures and disappointments
When all seems so futile and random
That even His grace seems a distant promise
There is, as always, the love of His Sacred Heart
 
Yet I know that He died for me, and lives for me
And from in the depth of his sacrifice comes His love
He, the One, the Divine, giving up all humanity for our sins
Always reaching out with His grace for me, a sinner
There is, as always the love of His Sacred Heart
 
And when His heart was pierced as foretold
Our lives flowed forth with His, co-mingled
The water of our lives together with His blood, in Mission
To flow forth and nurture the world we touch
With the love of His Sacred Heart
