His Touch

A tiny perfectly formed hand reaches out
Wrapping fragile fingers around my finger
This gentle little hand grips tightly
Knowingly reaching and holding on
Calmed by the security of touch
The feeling of attachment
The intimacy of living contact
The feel of a loving heartbeat
Seeking the familiar feel
Feeling the warmth of life
Knowing the comfort of home
 
So too I reach for Him
Longing to touch His loving hand
Knowing that He is there for me
Always reaching out to me
To grasp mine in communion
Flesh to flesh
Heart to heart
His gift of love so tangibly present
To heal, to comfort, to guide and encourage
To lead me with His grace
