Given in Love

A gift from the Father of eternal value

Living sign of His eternal love

Sent in His time to save us all

So tiny and helpless, in total trust

In simplest package,

God Himself as a baby so small

Brought forth by a Virgin

So simple and so mild

In so distant a time and place

In the form of an innocent child

Man yet God

Savior of the whole human race

Covered warmly in a wrap woven

Of our hopes and our dreams

In the glow of heavenly light beamed

Held close, treasured as Holy

This gift, for us all

Not at all as then it all seemed

Brought through perilous times

By an earthly father so kind

Protecting Mother and Child so dear

He followed God’s call

And gave it his all

Keeping them safe in time of great fear

This Child, Gift sublime

This wondrous gift divine

Given freely that we too might live

Son of God, Son of man

Given to save and to live

Would for us His life itself soon give

God’s perfect gift given free

Given for you and for me

To bring His love back to this earth

Gave His live to forgive

That we all might again live

To no longer wander and search

May I treasure this gift

And unwrap His great love

As I too live love and love give

And may I always be grateful

For this gift of God’s love
