I’ve lived pretty well

Have been blessed in so many ways

And I thought I knew all about love

Until last week, when I saw...

A child holding her mother’s hand

A mother looking at her newborn baby

A little girl holding her doll close like a mom

A father with his son on his shoulders

A little boy kissing his new puppy

A stranger giving his coat to a beggar

A husband kissing his aging wife good night

Friends shaking hands after a disagreement

An elderly couple looking into each others’ eyes

An unknown driver give up a parking place

A teen helping an old man cross the street

And I realized again

How clear the message He left us is

In simple, gentle and beautiful things

To “love one another”

And I was reminded again what God has done

In sending His only Son
