Your Gift of Love

Thank you Lord for sending Your grace

For blessing me with motherhood

For the precious gift of life in my care

Help me be the mother I should

For a time I wondered if I could be

A good mother to this child growing in me

Whether I should or would be ready soon

For everyone to clearly see

I know I need to trust in You

To help me, to show me, to hold me

With You help I know and I feel

I’ll be ready for what is soon to be

I’m not alone in this special place

Your mother Mary was here once too

Young, alone and frightened as I

But faithful and willing, His will, to do

Thank You Lord for hearing my prayer

And giving me strength to think clear

What I long for is to do Your will

And to overcome my fear

The time will come and be here soon

My baby will be born that day

I’ll become the mother I was meant to be

And treasure the miracle He has made
