A
Flower Faded, Now New
A flower has faded
And gone softly away
In the early fall frost
Now a summer’s life lost
A life lived; a life given now past
In the break of a new day
Its color gone and given out
Turning too soon from bright to gray
Petals fallen to the ground
Becoming one again
With its primeval source
Now living in a brand new way
Its’ life lived in splendor past
With color and texture and feel
Bringing joy and smiles to all
Bringing fragrance heaven sent
The beauty of life made real
Its’ seed sown, becoming seedlings
Mothering the new flowering of life
Planting new growth in life’s garden
To spring forth in new and upright
beauty
Nurtured by grace and love’s soft
light
A flower not forgotten
For what she brought to this place
A glimpse of holy perfection
Weathering life’s winds and trials
Even in brokenness was found grace
Life blooming above now new
Springs forth from this loving flower
In the garden of all holy life
Bringing joy and color and grace
Reflecting the creator’s love in this
new hour
A flower too soon faded, now lives
anew
