With deepest prayer and faith we hope

That God will hear our prayer

And send us a child to love and cherish

One with who’s life, ours, we can share

We know a special child is waiting

For our kindness and our love

The child of another mother

Created for us by God above

Our lives are holding, waiting

For word of a child to come

Into our lives soon a blessing

When our longing is finally done

Our family is full of anticipation

With tender and heartfelt love

That God will decide just who and just when

A surprise yet unknown from above

We pray that soon our child will be coming

From where we do not know

But love her we will, every day of her life

Our own, our child, as she grows

When she comes we will surely be ready

Our family will then be complete

Our love will flower and grow

From the very moment we meet

Our child will be a gift heaven sent

Of grace straight from His sacred heart

Sent by Him who loves us all as His children

And wants us all never ever to be apart

If God wills that a child should come to us soon

We’ll thank Him and always we’ll pray

That still others will also find warm caring homes

And parents to love them each day
