Help Me Become One

In my anxieties about things of life

When I feel uneasy and nervous

When I can’t seem to find peace

Help me, calm me, show me purpose

In my times of doubt and distance

When I can’t seem to believe

When I’m seeking Your return

Help me know it’s You I receive

In my weakness and frailty

When I can’t seem to go on

When my life seems to wander and stray

To You I look; to You I run

I our time of deepest darkness

You sent Your only Son

To join with us; to show the way

To be with us, and help us become one

From Divinity on high You sent Him

To bring us into the light of Your grace

He became one with us in flesh

The creator, the Word with us in this place

Your presence now with us always

As You sent Him, becoming bone of our bone

One of us, His creation, in this place

Coming that never would we be alone

Help me become one with You

As You so powerfully did for me

In all I say and all I do

And in all You taught me to be

Help me become one with You

To receive You as You also do me

And become one in flesh with You

In full communion for eternity
