Signs

I ask for a sign, searching now with my eyes

To find how His truth is revealed

And see only things of this weak sinful world

So many things need to be healed

I ask for a sign in my weak unbelief

To prove His eternal love

For a sign of His presence to be seen here with us

Not just distant and long from above

I ask for a sign and He sends more than one

That I can see in my time and my space

For I can’t know His mind as He so knows mine

From my humble life now in this place

Show me a way, I ask now so clear

As I pray for some reason and rhyme

Lead me out, save my life, I beg in my fear

Give me strength, give me more time

In the mirror of my soul, I see what I fear

And look for a way to be free

Then the glow of His love beams mercy and grace

To light a safe pathway for me

For His sign is oft sent to my mind and my heart

In grace filled moments sent from above

Not felt in my eyes, but seen with my heart

As I open myself to His love

Help me see without signs, the way of Your love

And the mercy You show to us all

May I see with my heart;

Find Your path in the dark

By the light of grace to follow Your call
