My July 4^th is not the same this year

I now look at it in a different way

More than just a day off for leisure and play

I’m celebrating God’s incredible grace today

I’m glad I’m not alone, I live with purpose

There’s Holy reason I am now right here

Not just chance or accident as a cause

But a holy plan, His plan, His year

Always here with me, leading me on

Showing the path which leads to Him

Lighting the way which points to right

Saving from harm, shielding from sin

I celebrate Dependence Day this time each year

Thinking and thanking for all He has given

My very life, my soul, my being

Because of His love again I am forgiven

For He is the One who gives me all

On His will, love and mercy I fully depend

It’s dependence on Him I celebrate today

And to Him my allegiance and prayer I send

Give me independence from sin and fear

And all that is wrong, protect me today

As I celebrate the 4^th again this year

Always dependent on Your grace, I pray
