The Simple Pleasure of Springtime Grace

The joy of a late spring weekend pleases

Lush places with green hues and azure blue

Warm yet freshly fanned by cool breezes

Trill of robin’s song, while nesting new

The giggle of children at play in the distance

Chalk drawings cover walks and drives

Passing art, to be seen only a short while

Till rain washes all clean for the morrow

A deep blue sky unlike any other seen

A stage upon which cloud shows perform

Wispy white billows forming shapes known

Moving past, from where, and to where shown

A nap in the shade comes, amid sounds abound

Refreshment from the stress of the day

Still and peaceful as can be ever found

Peaceful respite in a quiet time away

Floral blooms of color light the pallete

Bright and soft hues delighting the space

In wondrous shapes and fragrances abound

Reflections of the breadth of God’ sweet grace

Sparkling and moist with morning dew

Bringing life, nurturing growth afresh

Soften the deep green carpet to touch

Between my toes the cool textures mesh

The simple pleasures of springtime grace

Fill my senses in time and space

Reminded of beauty and peace and life

I feel Your loving touch in this place

I taste and breathe in the sweet life giving air

It fills and enlivens me as does Your grace

I splash cool flowing water on my face

Refreshed with Your presence in this place
