The Grace of Spring

Braced by a breath of cool breeze, I walk out into the new

A fresh day, a new way, the beginning to another story

Winter’s past lingers cool, now yielding to new warmth

All things reborn, now springing forth in Your glory

Freshness awakes me as I breathe deep the morning air

Grey skies moving, parting, golden beams, morning rays

Shrill, sweet bird calls pierce, as the fog begins to fade

On early morning flight in search of food for the day

Heavy dew blankets the newly greening grass, nurturing life,

Blades glistening below the golden disc of morning sun

Cool freshness, a newness, bringing not just another day,

But another time, another cycle, and life season begun

Buds so small, emerging silently from branches stark

Unfolding, stretching, greening, toward the morning sun

Windows damp with the coats of morning dew

Signaling change, freshness, something new begun

Cold, new streams renewed after winter’s icy rest

I listen and watch life’s babble and flow

All things changed, cool and fresh running new

Washing hearts clean as the stones there below

As grains of cool sand are warmed by the rising sun,

So does my life, in all its grains and color and feel

My heart warms anew to the embrace of Your love

My soul from winter frost to springtime love does heal

A fresh start, a new day, a new time of birth and life

New beginnings lay forth before me in this place

Now awakens my senses to feel and to sense

A new day, a new life, a time of new grace

Lord help me spring forth now with new life

With Your love and grace fill me today

I thank You for making all things again new

With You, the springtime of my life, will I stay
