Winterscape of His Love
As a bright white ermine coat of
winter covers the ground
With its depth and crystalline blanket
Its smoothness and depth are
interrupted
By paths cleared for passage, carved
out in clean slices
Or pushed back into man made mountain
ranges of white
Even the smallest branches wear light
wraps of white
Fitted sleeves knitted from a fluffy white floss
Like the breadth and depth of God’s
love covering all
With equal share and abundant supply
is spread
And all is renewed
Through His all enveloping grace are
His pathways
Following some, moving with purpose at
times through the depth
Heading through without stepping off
into the deep
Keeping straight as we can from and to
where we are going
Paths thought of our own creation alone,
but always His
For all directions taken through life are
surrounded
Softened by His grace
Carved out of this generous all
encompassing blanket
Of His over covering and abundant love
Yet under this fitted cover, my life often
sleeps, waiting, building strength
Then, yet still under His depth of
love I thrive
Soon in warmth to be nurtured by the
ever flowing stream of His grace
To my roots, carrying the blessing of life
itself
Nurturing me till I reach upward when
the time is right, His time
Wrap me Lord with the all covering
blanket of Your love
That I may rest in You
and live in You
Help me with Your
all abundant grace to follow paths of love
Through the winter times of my life,
knowing
That Your
grace is all I’ll ever need
