ALL I NEED
 
In the midst of life’s joys
Fulfilled with family and friends
In celebrating life’s good things
There’s still a longing deep inside
For completion, a need
A longing, to fill my desert space
 
These forty days almost gone
Days of life passing, of prayer lasting
Yet still days of releasing unholy preoccupation
A time of closing old, and opening new
Of building my altar for that moment
When fulfillment of the promise comes
 
His call clearly heard:
 
To empty and be filled
To clear away and be planted
To re-center my life circle
To re-fix my eyes on truth
To wash away what stains
To put on a fresh garment
 
For in this emptiness
In this dryness of place
In this change time
 
He comes to provide
 
  All I Need
 
To help me focus my life
On the truth of His eternal grace
On His living sacrifice given freely to all
And He fills all emptiness with new life
Bringing me home to Himself
Healing my heart and holding it close
