In the dryness of lengthening days
Preparing for the coming spring
Longing for the freshness
The change of newness and blessing
The advent of new life

For a soon time when Your holy song is sung
By winged creatures aflight
Calling out for companionship
In the sudden grayness of pre-spring
Preparing for new growth and color
I wait unto You Lord
 
For Your creative hand moves
Ever beautifully in Your time
Transforming and renewing all
From soil to sky in rainbows
From sky to heaven
From inside and out
 
In this season in between
One of expectation for the new
One of preparation, rebirth and renewal
In my desert time of transformation
I wait unto You Lord
 
And open a special place in my heart
Where the flowing beauty of Your spring of life
Can enter, enrich and enliven me
Moving me from dryness to vitality of spirit
