Today is not just another day

It ‘s a day to celebrate in a special way

A time to look forward and behind, it seems

To mix gently your memories with future dreams

I smile when I see your face or hear your voice

And thank God for sending you our way

Your loving presence brightens each day

At times when I’m up and when I’m down

Your caring voice always makes me smile

And causes me to remember a time

The laughing kids we were, back now quite a while

As I see your life and family and friends

I know Mom and Dad are proud

With the Woman, Mother, Wife and Mom

And Sister you have become

A perfect number, this birthday of yours

It can be nicely divided by ten

But no number can measure in any way

The influence your life has been

So much has passed, so much to come

It’s exciting, looking ahead for more

Of your love and smiles and gentle ways

Knowing so much is yet in store

When God made a sister for me He knew

I would need a close, loving friend to care

A gentle spirit, with a sensitive heart

With whom our lives we could share
