Another day given,

I long for its lightness

For peace and softness in life

For joy and soothing

An end to all pain

A calm to my stress and my strife.

With day comes new sunshine

It pierces and glows

It warms and lights up my life’s dream

Framing life’s art, created in time

Bringing my soul into being

The air on this day, so cool and so bright

A feeling of freshness and new

I walk and I breathe and soak up the warm light

Feeling His graces shine thru

Looking back and now forward

For purpose and aim

My life, it keeps changing its tune

Never the same, I flip thru its pages

Searching for rhyme and new tone

I ponder the times and places so dear

Where I’ve gone fore and go now to be

The sadness of yester… The joys of the morrow

Of newfound bright song I can see

As daylight so passes I wonder and wait

For people and places I look

I’m filled with my dreams and anticipate

New entries in life’s book

I thank You dear Lord

For each day that You give

As a gift which I open with glee

A blessing to use, a moment in time

To savor and really to live
