His Timing

What marvelous fits in His time oft we see

Always amazed when they happen to be

We take time as our own, as ours only to spend

And not think of the gift as one He does send.

Ends to beginnings, finish to start

Daybreak to night as light to dark

He gives it all freely, to all even share

We take it and use it oft times without care.

Each day time begins and is there fore the dawn

We count on it lasting all the day long

Each day runs on time and then new it restarts

Seconds leave minutes then hours depart.

We measure time with a clock or a chime

As if it was not His time alone, but just mine

Yet a ticking, a tock, or pendulum swings

Still the same gift of time He always so brings.

For us time’s to watch, and to measure and count

Delay of its use and our tasks they do mount

And we track and we take and we ask then for more

To use as we will but never to store.

To use it our best as we’re called here to do

We’re tested to watch and use it as new

To spend and invest and not keep it the same

And return it to Him from whom it all came.

Our time is a piece of God’s love here to use

When present and past in right memory fuse

His time is eternal, but a blink we are given

To share, and to cherish, on this side of heaven.

All things in God’s plan here do happen in time

His plan, when He wants it, is His and not mine

So I thank Him for giving this gift to me each day

For the gift of His timing in my life here today.
