The sacred gift of life is given

By the finger of God, hand carved

In His image, our faces can be seen

A reflection of His eyes, in ours.

In the perfection of the smallest wrinkle

The tiniest eyelash, a work of art

In the grasp of a newborn’s hand we feel

The touch of our creator from the start

The senses we enjoy from birth

Echo the wisdom of creation

The feelings experienced through life

Are earthly tastes of the eternal.

In the miracle of new life Jesus smiles

His angels protect and keep us whole

As grace flows through our earthly being

His love fills our very souls.

As He sent His own to us, to be…

To live our lives and show the way

To lead us out of darkness

To open heaven to us with His life, He’d pay

Thank you Jesus for Your gift of life

Help me humbly cherish it always

And use my life as You intended

In Your glory all of my days.
