I will be with you until the end of time

Was the promise He made that day

As part of His Body and through His Church

This gift lives in and for us today

He sent these shepherds to guide and to keep

His blessings and comfort they give

Smiling and soothing troubled hearts each day

Teaching by how they love and live.

They heard and listened, some time ago

To a call from One above

And answered then as they do each day

In humility and selfless love

We yearn to hear and feel and know

Their life’s stories so real and true

They share and care enough to show us

With great patience how and what to do

A smile, a tear, a glitter of eye

Sharing joy and showing the way

Toward Your Truth and Light above they walk

Lighting our path by what they say

A grace filled peace these shepherds bring

Teaching in words and life and look

Their comfort in faith and trust is clear

In lives lived beyond the Book.

With grace filled streams of life, they water our roots

With lessons taught of faith and peace

Feeding us with their words of God’s love

Helping us grow in our belief

In their hands the gift of He Himself

Alive today for us

In bread and wine transformed for us

And in their lives of love

We see Him now in these shepherds of love

And in who we strive to be

You and I, we’re called to be as well

His hands to hold and His eyes to see.

Thank you Lord for the grace you give

In sharing these shepherds’ love

A gift You give, through them to us
