You Are There

At times I worry about tomorrow

And forget about your plan

Yet anxiety I need not borrow

But be open to trust in Your will

Because You are there

When the right path I’ve chosen is hard

Littered with potholes and boulders of pain

And the distance to what is right seems so far

I need only be reminded by Your cross

And trust that there You are

When my life seems out of control

And just living it seems to wear me down

I should remember that you saved my soul

By giving your entire human life for me

And be comforted that You are there

When the right thing is not clear

And voices all around pull me away

I must not forget to listen and hear

Your voice in the whispers of my spirit

Because I know that always, You are there

When bad things happen in good times

And I am tempted to blame He who is

It’s easy to forget and easier to overlook

That the One who created me from nothing

Has a plan beyond my own senses

A plan of loving purpose and care

And in His time we are all fulfilled
