How Wondrous Your Works
A simple carpenter,
A humble young virgin
In so selfless a faith
Said yes to Gods will
In that time and that place
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
For all time became blessed
Will always be honored
That first Christian family together
Built on love and pure faith
Be a model for us all forever
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
To the humblest of people-
To the poor came the riches
Greatest gift of creation from heaven above
Transforming all with Your grace
The Gift, of pure love from above
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
In the smallest of towns and poorest of stables
Under the bright star of David He came
The City of God that night came to be
For the presence of the Almighty
Came then and is now, for all thus to see
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
As a helpless infant, newborn
In caring arms of His mother
Perfection of all men, and God Himself
The Creator, The Word made flesh
Simply here He became present
In humblest of simple wood crèche
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
For us all then, now and forever
He has come, Messiah, Savior
In a way unexpected, miracle present
The Creator became His created for all
That our souls could then all be saved
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
As helpless child came to save us
To be with Him in heaven
Mankind He created, with love and for love
Brings us all His children, home to live
Together with Him and the Father and Spirit above
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
The Almighty God of all creation
Took on the simple life He created
Lived here that we may learn love,
And died here that we may then live
Rose, that we be with Him forever in love
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
Forever with us Himself He did give
The Lord of the universe, Himself is the gift
Forever now present as Eucharist
In simple bread, common wine
To feed us with His love, until the end of all time
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
So I spend just an hour in praise and I say:
You live with us now, and always, forever
Salvation has come through You, today
In awe and in wonder for the gift You have given
As your loving child I give thanks and I pray
Let me be as a child,
A babe in Your arms
Depending on the love that You give
In good times and bad
I offer all that I have
May I use well Your gift, as I live
How wondrous are Your mighty works Oh Lord
And how loved I do feel today
To know the depth of Your love
In Your birth as a child
Humbled, that I, You did save.
