Time of Change

At that first Epiphany

Two Thousand Years ago

Wise men came bearing gifts

Of frankincense, myrrh, and gold

The followed a star

So far and so bright

On a journey of faith

Into the cold dark night

They left their homes

Places of comfort and rest

To follow a calling

Of selfless noble quest

To offer their gifts

In worship and praise

To One not yet known to them

A stranger to their days

In humble gesture they came

Not for their own cause

But in search for the King

Who would write the new law

Jesus I pray for an Epiphany

This year in my heart

On a bold new faith journey

This year may I start

I bring my three gifts

Of faith, hope, and love

To Your tabernacle here

And offer prayers on above

Help me follow Your guiding star

On a journey of faith everyday

And with the gift of Your Eucharist

Nurture me with grace along the way
