Help Me Walk the Way of the Cross

As He entered Jerusalem we cheered and spread palms in His path in honor and praise, thanking God in joy for His arrival.
Do I spread the palms of peace in how I interact with others?
Do I honor and praise Him through how I live?

Dear Jesus, I pray for Your help as I approach the week of Your Passion, Death, and Ressurection that I may recommit to living my life as an example to others…that I may honor You and spread real joy by being the palm of peace in their lives.

He showed and taught His disciples true love when he washed their feet; the king of all creation with towel in hand in service to all.

How do I show love to my neighbor?
Do I seek honor for myself or do I humble myself in service to others?

Dear Jesus, I pray that, with Your help, I can recognize my prideful ways and be in humble service, even in the simplest of ways, to those I love, to neighbors and to strangers.

He prayed that the cup of suffering and pain for our sins be taken from Him, but accepted whatever was His Father’s will. He asked for His disciples to be with Him, to stay awake and pray with him for but one hour, but they were weak.

Do I ask God to do my will, or do I ask for strength to do His?
Do I set aside time to be with Him in prayer, to be in His presence in Eucharist?
Will I remain steadfast in my faith, or run and hide when it gets difficult?

Dear Jesus, I pray for Your help. Give me strength to do Your will. I will set aside a special time to be with You every day, not just during this special Lenten time but every day of the year. Help me to stay alert for your call, to become closer to you every day.

Jesus the Christ; the Son of the Living God, willingly suffered the human cruelty of convicting and wrongful words, of humiliation and physical suffering and pain, and even death itself for our sins, that we might be redeemed.

Am I willing to live a holy life wherever I am, even in the face of insult and criticism?
Am I willing to sacrifice my ego and pride in Christian humility, and trust in God’s will?

Dear Jesus, I pray for strength of faith, that when I am confronted with temptation I will turn to You; that with the help of Your grace I may resist and control my pride and selfishness.

As He promised his disciples, and that the scripture be fulfilled, He rose from the Dead after three days. His resurrection from the Dead fulfilled His promise to us and established the New Covenant. He fulfilled His promise of salvation, and promise to remain with us until the end of time.

Do I make empty promises or am I going to strive to live in His light every day?
Will I remain faithful, and change my life to live anew, and closer to Him?

Dear Jesus, help me as I walk the way of Your cross. Help me bear the daily crosses of my life with the love You showed us, with the faith You gave to us. Help me live anew, in the light of Your resurrection, and embracing the never-ending fount of grace You provide.
