He’s Coming This Man

It’s quiet. I’m waiting, Wanting for something,

A peace, which I long for Inside me so deep.

This long time of waiting, these days and these nights

The Gift is now coming, is salvation in sight?

Amazing wonder, these days I do seek.

For peace deep inside, but my will is so weak.

Preparing the way, with his life is my guide

I listen and hear them, the sounds from outside.

The crowd, it now thickens, out my window I see.

They say He’s now coming, this Jesus, this Teacher,

Messiah but Man, From us, but from Galilee?

There He is, It’s Him; He’s not what I thought

This man, this Rabbi, like you and like me.

There’s something I feel though

A new peace, gentle comfort, a power, and presence,

I know Him, His grace moves now in me.

The new David they say, He is and will be .

Our king in this world, He’ll lead us to be free.

But yet in my heart, there’s a part just today

That’s not ready in me, I know not what to say.

I’ll wait a bit longer, and open my heart

I’ll pray, and I’ll watch and listen today.

What if it’s true,

That this Man as says he,

Is our King and our Savior.

Am I ready to see?

He said it today, It has come now to be.

His kingdom right here

Inside you and in me!

Oh Lord I’m not worthy of

This gift, You to me.

Help me to live in the light, which you bring

Forgive me oh Jesus oh you who redeem.

Help me to live as You call me to be.
