I Wonder

If God was not the author of life, the creator

Would I be here writing this, in this language, with these hands, with this brain, on this computer in this place? Am I the incredible creation of a loving creator who intended me to be from the beginning of time? Or do I prefer to think that I am the result of countless trillions of accidents over the millennia? If so...

Would I be at all?

If God was not the author of life, the creator

Would this world of technology and economy we have fashioned with our hands have happened? Do I prefer to think that everything we create, and build and learn has always been known to us through our own doing as would be Gods, and merely is uncovered?

All by itself?

If God was not the author of life, the creator

Would such a highly organized and marvelously efficient ecosystem, animal, plant, mineral world, and universe of beautiful mysteries beyond our comprehension come to happen...

All by itself?

We humans, in our arrogance, probe the mysteries of creation and take credit for discovery and invention, when all things are already known to God

We try to emulate the creator and try to be like God ourselves in determining the future of our world, blindly following the temptation to improve on God’s creation...

Didn’t two people in a Garden of Eden try that once before...

All by themselves?

The deeper we pry into the smallest of particles, into the very essence of the material world, the complexity and beauty of design increases rather than decreases! The farther we probe into the vast variables, systems, marvels of time and space, dimension and distances of the universe, the closer we get to one common beginning! Could any source have created this but God? Could it have happened...

All by itself?

Dear God, almighty creator of all that was, is, and will ever be; thank you for the blessings you have showered upon us Your simple creatures. I am humbled by the fact that You, the creator of all, would create us in Your very image and likeness!

In the warmth of the glowing morning sun on my face, I feel your love. In the ability You have given me to ponder my existence, I feel Your generous grace and blessings. In the knowledge that as our creator, You had such great love for us that You sent your only begotten Son to be one of us for all of us and for me.

What more do I want or need? For I do not want to be ...

All by myself!
