There will soon come a day when...

People will care for each other

And reach out to help in troubled times

As we are all sister and brother

There will soon come a time when...

All wrongs are forgiven and past

And honest good things will be all around

As we realize the shortness of life

At last

There will be a place someday where...

All work together for common well being

And self will become second to neighbor

It will surely be a place worth seeing

There will soon be a way made possible whereby...

All hunger and thirst will be at its end

And the naked will be clothed and housed

As we learn to finally treat each other as friend

There will soon come a final act in life’s play wherein...

All people will be their authentic selves

And honesty, justice and love will prevail

As the curtain of this short life falls

Lord let me bring peace to others this Advent

As I await Your coming as You did long ago

Help me to prepare my heart with love

By finding and holding and not letting go

For I wait and prepare for Your coming

And in a special way I’ll do my part this year

By giving and sharing and caring for others

By living the Gospel I happily hear
