For Me?

How can this be
That I repeatedly turn away
That I consciously deny
That I sadly don’t remember
That I so weakly respond
Yet He sacrificed all
For me!
 
How can this be
That I am created in His image
That I am created to be with Him
That I am forgiven of all
That I am so unworthy
Yet He sacrificed all
For me!
 
How can this be
That He came to this simple earth
Creator becoming His created
Savior joining the sinners
The Word becoming Flesh
And sacrificing all
For me!
 
And How can this be
That the Shepherd became the Lamb
The Savior dined with sinners
The Lord of all creation humbled Himself
Becoming food for our souls
In common bread and wine transformed
Broken and shared
         For and with me!
